first post!

Here it is, the very first post on the Jim & Ab blog!

James and I are pretty busy people these days - I'm six months pregnant, James is now a full-time pastor on staff at Horizon as well as a student at Horizon college and in the midst of our jobs, preparing for baby, and all of life's other demands, we're pretty busy, but happy people! My favorite thing about this season of our life is just enjoying each other's company any second we get. Now that I am in my second trimester, it's much easier to wake up in the mornings and spend time with James enjoying breakfast and reading the Bible together. I am very excited about the challenge we've just taken on to read the Bible in one year - I've always wanted to do this! Being pregnant has already changed the way we live in minor ways and I know it's just preparation for our lives to change MAJORLY when baby comes. :)

I've started swimming on my own and doing a water aerobics class. I LOVE being in the water - it's the one time my body feels 100% great right now! I wish I could swim every single day, but I am thankful for the moments I get in the water. I am a little nervous about the weather getting warmer since we don't have air conditioning at the house, but I am sure we will make it through.

We're taking Bradley classes, which are all about having a husband-coached natural child birth. The classes are very informative and it's good to be around other couples who are having natural births. There's even a couple who attends the class that has the same midwife as us and they are due one week before us! So exciting! As we count down the months, it's pretty wild how quickly it's all coming. Before we know it we will be holding our little bundle of joy in our arms and be very tired but happy parents. God is so good and knows just what His children need. We are so looking forward to the blessing of being entrusted with a life to care for and know we are in for major growth!

Just a few recent pictures... I am 23 weeks in both pictures. The one on the top was right before we had lunch with our friend Lee and the one the bottom is after lunch on Father's Day.
